Alex beats Keri-Ann Payne to first place in Great London Swim

KRSC's Alex Panayides had another fantastic swim at the weekend as she won the Great London Swim on 26th May 2012 leaving World Champion Kerri-Ann Payne to take second place.  It was the first of the series of British Gas Great Swims and took place in London’s Victoria Dock.  Alex completed the one mile race in twenty minutes and six seconds in choppy conditions which made it tough for all the swimmers.  She was first female and third overall.  Kerri-Ann Payne, who swam in a different heat to Alex, was swimming with no wetsuit as part of her preparation for the London 2012 Olympics and completed the course in 20 minutes and 58 seconds.
