London Regional Youth Championships 2017

From Saturday 29th April through the Bank Holiday weekend 14 Kingston Royals swimmers were in action at the London Aquatic Centre competing in the 2017 Regional Championships.

With a number of swimmers competing for the first time at the long course Regional Championships, the team achieved a magnificent 22 finals between them as well as a host of personal and seasonal best swims.

Long Course Club Open Records were broken by Lucy Hawley in the 200 Breaststroke and Blu Edmunds in the 200 Backstroke, records which had stood for 10 years and 9 years respectively.

Luca Capezzuoli capped a fine weekend of racing by taking Bronze in the 15 year old 200 Butterfly, missing silver by the same amount that he missed a medal in the 100 Fly the previous day - 0.02 seconds!

The Club's attention now turns to the Regional Age Group Champs, for those competing in age groups 11/12, 13 and 14.
