Tom Hits Form at Disability Champs
Thomas Urry produced his best performance to date at last weekend's British International Disability Championships (BIDS), reaching the B final of 400m freestyle.
Thomas' time in the final was 14 seconds faster than the time he swam at last year's BIDS. He finished 10th. During the four day competition Thomas competed in five events. In the 200m medley he achieved a 27 second long course PB of 6:36.39 and his time in 100m freestyle was a six second PB. He also competed in 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke. The competition was a multi-disability event so Thomas was competing against other swimmers across all classifications, not just those from his own S7 class. The event was also being used as trials for the British team for this summer's IPC World Championships so most of the country's Paralympians were competing.
