Kingston Royals Swimming Club welcomed local MP James Berry and Councillors Andrea Craig, Ken Smith and Terry Paton to The Malden Centre on Friday 18 September to present their aspirations for a new swimming pool facility in the Borough and to launch a supporting petition

Kingston has one of the worst ratios of pools to residents in London, severely limiting opportunities for the local community to develop aquatic skills.
Having a third pool in the Borough would be absolutely fantastic for the community. If it were to be a 50m pool then this would really establish the Borough as a major national player in the aquatic world.
Chairman Tim Boden remarked “It was a pleasure to meet our MP and Councillors on Friday, and we thanked them for giving up their precious time to listen to us and share thoughts. Swimming is vital for the Club, school children and residents alike”.
The Club are well on their way to the 500 signatures needed to petition the Council on this issue which also includes the needs of schools and local residents. The petition can be found here on RBK’s website.
