Guildford Spectrum played host to week two of the Surreys where KRSC swimmers competed in the 100m breaststroke and 200m freestyle events. At the end of the weekend, the club remained in second place (out of twenty five) and two golds, three silvers and two bronzes were added to the medal tally. An additional nine finalist (top eight) places were achieved. Our swimmers overall swam really well with 41 personal bests achived from a possible 47. Yasmine Hamerlaine, 10 and Lily Anderson, 14 were the gold medal winners for the second week in a row, both taking the top spot in the 200m freestyle. Details of all medal winners are below. Next weekend, 15/16 March and 22 March sees further visits to The Spectrum for the remainder of the 100m and 200m events while the 50m sprints and the relay events take place at Crystal Palace on 23 and 29 March respectively.

It was a very long weekend at Guildford Spectrum but the rewards were great for KRSC swimmers who came away with another eleven medals and a further 24 finalist (top eight) places at the Surrey County Championships this weekend. Events comprised the remainder of the 100m and 200m races - the 100m and 200m butterfly, 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle, 100m IM and 200m breaststroke. Next weekend sees a change of venue as swimmers and supporters head to Crystal Palace for the 50m sprint events. And a reminder to all those taking part that the warm up and sign in time has been brought forward with registration opening at 0800 and closing at 0830 and warm up starting at 0830. The 2013 Surrey Championships kicked off this weekend and saw KRSC finish with six silver and seven bronze medals. In addition to the medal winners, KRSC swimmers finished in "finalist" positions (top eight) in a further 17 events. Congratulations to all our medal winners and finalists (details below) but also well done to every one of the swimmers who competed with many achieving fantastic individual results.
Please note that due to the Surrey Championships the land training sessions on Sunday evening for Nationals and Junior Nationals will NOT take place on 3, 10, 17 and 31 March. There will be a session on 24 March.
